Description
Zorb II diamond fabric is great for cloth nappies and other items that need a highly absorbent fabric. Designed to shrink and therefore thicken during use. Zorb II diamond is great for times that you need maximum absorbency.
What is Zorb II diamond?
Zorb II diamond is made up of three layers, a top layer of 70% bamboo viscose, and 30% organic cotton, a backing of 100% wicking polyester and a filling of a special blend of hydrating and wicking fibres making this highly absorbent. It is best suited to areas where you want maximum absorption. For larger areas then Zorb II dimple is possibly a better choice. The absorbency of this fabric is not reduced by hard water or mineral deposits from washing powder, and as a result, you should never need to strip wash it, as you might with other fabrics. It can be used as a single layer in a soaker, fitted nappy or prefold nappy. This fabric will take up liquid twenty times faster than natural fibres. It can be used in place of two layers of microfibre terry or 4 layers of bamboo terry fabric.
Care and use
Zorb II is designed to shrink when washed and dried. If dried hot the fabric with thickening by around 50%, it will also shrink in length by about 20%. It is recommended that you cut out to allow for this shrinkage, as once it has thickened it is very hard to sew, so pre-washing is not recommended. To sew this fabric on an overlocker you will need a well-tuned overlocker with sharp blades.
Washing instructions:
Wash cold to hot, tumble dry medium, iron warm and no bleach. Fully machine washable. The fabric is 76 cm wide approximately.
