Microfleece fabric is so called because it is a lightweight version of the fabric. This is the lightest weight polar fleece and is used for a wide range of different applications. It is often used for sports clothing as it is easy to care for and has wicking qualities. This also makes it ideal for cloth nappies, menstrual pads, baby bibs and breast pads. Liquid passes through the fabric quickly, but it does not feel wet to the touch. This creates a stay dry layer in cloth nappies and other similar items.
