Description
Bamboo & Polyester Stretch Terry fabric
Bamboo & Polyester Stretch Terry fabric is a beautifully soft stretchy fabric with a terry pile on one side, flat on the other.
Made from a combination of 80% bamboo viscose and 20% polyester. This terry fabric is incredibly soft. The soft fabric can be dyed or left in its natural, off white colour. The softness of the fabric makes it ideal for many uses. Cloth nappies, breast pads, bibs, face cloths, makeup pads and other baby/children’s clothing items.
100% bamboo fabric is not very stable and the addition of the polyester helps to make it hard wearing and long lasting.
Before use
Bamboo & Polyester stretch terry is made with both natural and man made fibres. You will find that you will get some shrinkage when it is washed and we recommend that you wash before use or sewing. This will also help to remove any residues from manufacturing and increase the absorbency of the fabric. It is fully machine washable and easy to sew and work with.
The fabric comes in rolls measuring approximately 150 cm wide. The gsm of the unwashed fabric is 220 gsm. After the first wash and dry the fabric will shrink slightly, but will also increase the gsm and thickness slightly.
Bamboo
Bamboo fabric is man made from a natural fibre. It has many of the qualities of natural fabrics, being breathable and absorbent. It is also possible to dye bamboo fabric with most fabric dyes. Bamboo is a rayon fabric, which means that it is very soft and that it retains it’s softness after washing and wearing.
