There are lots of different types of minky fabrics that are available. Each of these has different uses and things that they are good for. Printed minky fabric is one of the most useful. Because it is already decorated with a printed design, you can use it as it is. You do not need to add embroidery or applique designs to the fabric.
Patterned minky
Patterned minky comes in a variety of different designs and prints. For this reason, you are able to select a pattern that suits the item that you are making. Cloth nappies, for example, can be quite decorative, just down to the fabric that you choose. Our sock monkey or aeroplane print fabrics, for example, would look really great made into a cloth nappy or a bib. You do not need to add any extra embellishments to them, to make a finished, cute item. For other fabrics, the pattern gives an interesting finish to the item. Imagine a teddy bear made out of our plaid minky fabric, or a little bag out of our retro dot fabric. The joy of patterned fabric like this is that you can make a huge difference to your item, without having to gain any extra sewing skills or do anything too fiddly.
Our printed minky
We have a good range of printed minky fabric, and we are adding to it all the time. You can find our current range here. Of course, if there is something that you don’t see, but would like, please let me know and I will try to get hold of it for you.
My personal favourites at the moment are the crossbones print, our mini zigzag and our Izzy stripe fabric. I can imagine all kinds of creations that could be created with these. I hope to add a few more shortly, including some Christmas themed fabric.
